一、備課思路

該文本是按照時間順序推進呈現(xiàn)的。教師若按目前高中英語閱讀教學(xué)固有的模式去教學(xué)，學(xué)生只能了解文中的內(nèi)容，而對文中的人文情懷感觸不深。因此，教師要引導(dǎo)學(xué)生在讀的同時，更多地體會這篇文章的人文情懷。因此，設(shè)計了角色扮演、實地體驗等活動來增強學(xué)生的真實感受，讓學(xué)生印象深刻。

二、課堂教學(xué)

（一）Warming-up&Lead-in

1.教師首先播放關(guān)于地震的視頻以及地震后的圖片，把學(xué)生從感覺上拉到地震的場景中。之后，提問學(xué)生看到了什么，感受如何，想到了什么。

2.學(xué)生回答后，進一步提問：“Have you experienced an earthquake?Could you tell me what you saw, felt and thoughtabout?”在學(xué)生回答后，板書“A night the earth didn't sleep”，讓學(xué)生猜測“why didn't the earth sleep”。

【設(shè)計意圖】通過圖片、視頻等引導(dǎo)學(xué)生進入本課話題，通過對學(xué)生的提問，引起學(xué)生對地震相關(guān)知識的回憶。通過讓學(xué)生談自己的所見、所感，激活學(xué)生已有知識經(jīng)驗。同時，為閱讀做好鋪墊。

（二）Reading

1. Fast reading

（1）教師引導(dǎo)學(xué)生快速瀏覽本文，總結(jié)出本文主旨大意。板書提示詞匯：When?Where?What happened?

（2）Scanning. Scan the text and find out the key sentence in each paragraph.

2. Careful reading

Task 1. Interview.（采訪，角色扮演-role play）每一小組選一位同學(xué)做記者——reporter，其他同學(xué)扮演唐山大地震中的幸存者。將地震前的一些征兆用采訪對話的形式表達出來。

Task 2. Damage during the earthquake.（Report）學(xué)生找出信息后，老師指導(dǎo)學(xué)生扮演電視臺記者，把地震災(zāi)情報道給觀眾。先組內(nèi)報導(dǎo)，再在全班演示，如：I am a reporter from CCTV 1. I will report the damage of the earthquake...

Task 3. Rescue after the earthquake.（role-play）學(xué)生們分別設(shè)想自己是soldiers、teams、miners、shelters。What did they do?學(xué)生們把文中找到的信息用第一人稱的形式轉(zhuǎn)述出來，如：We are soldiers,we were sent to the earthquake area at once as soon as the earthquake happened/broke out.We put up shelters,rescue the injured people to the nearest hospital...

【設(shè)計意圖】如果只讓學(xué)生簡單完成skimming、scanning、careful reading內(nèi)容的話，學(xué)生們只會把這篇文章當作一篇文章來學(xué)習(xí)。而設(shè)計成角色扮演的形式，既訓(xùn)練了閱讀技巧，又讓學(xué)生設(shè)身處地地想象自己身處地震災(zāi)難中，更能令學(xué)生印象深刻。這不僅是對知識的學(xué)習(xí)，而且是一次精神的洗禮，讓學(xué)生真正感受到災(zāi)難的無情。

3. Post-reading

In this part，students learn to get some survival tips from the games. They will experience，then the teacher guides students to make a summary of the measures，which may save theirs lives in the earthquake. Do the test：Can we survive in an earthquake?Let's have a try then make a summary of survival tips.

利用多媒體輔助教學(xué)來做這個游戲，以動畫的形式進行。如果選錯方法，就會在動畫中顯示“被地震奪去生命”，讓學(xué)生深刻體會災(zāi)難的無情。然后，師生共同總結(jié)方法：Don't be nervous and keep calm. Don't try to run out of the classroom. Hide under the desk. Protect your head by putting your bag on your head. Leave the classroom after the earthquake. Never try to use the lift.

【設(shè)計意圖】通過完成這個游戲測試，教師引導(dǎo)學(xué)生在災(zāi)難中掌握正確的逃生方法進行自救，并總結(jié)自救方法，讓學(xué)生認識到：雖然我們無法阻止災(zāi)難的發(fā)生，但是我們可以用自己的知識盡可能地在災(zāi)難中減少損傷。

4.Homework

寫一篇英語作文：假如你的家鄉(xiāng)在唐山，你的筆友Tom的家鄉(xiāng)遭遇了大地震，損失嚴重，你聽說了此事后，給Tom寫了一封信，鼓勵他要有信心，勇敢面對災(zāi)難，并告訴他你的經(jīng)歷。

【設(shè)計意圖】通過讓學(xué)生寫作文的形式，將學(xué)生本節(jié)課所學(xué)內(nèi)容內(nèi)化，分享自己的經(jīng)歷、生活經(jīng)驗和對生活的感知，激勵學(xué)生繼續(xù)努力學(xué)習(xí)、用知識武裝自己。
